leopard print coat

One of my favorite pieces this winter has been this fuzzy leopard print coat. It was a Christmas gift from 2015. Admittedly, last winter I didn’t wear it as much as it deserved (or much at all). I was unsure how to style it, despite numerous searches for inspiration on Pinterest.

This year, however, I pull it out of my closet every single time I get a chance to. I don’t know if it was moving to Nashville, where furry coats are a glamorous southern girl’s winter staple here, or seeing Kendall Jenner rock one after the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show, but whatever the reason, I had a newfound confidence that enabled me to wear this coat for any occasion.

Obviously I haven’t been the only one who’s fancied a feline topper, as leopard coats have been all the rage this winter, consistently documented on street style stars and models off duty alike.

I love the way this coat dresses up even the most basic of looks for day. I’ve worn it with just a lace slip dress underneath for a dramatic reveal for evening. One of the easiest ways to style it is over an all black outfit, letting the coat be the one focal point or statement of the outfit.

Most recently, I threw it on over a simple pair of high waisted ripped jeans and a cropped tee, with tall patent spiky boots. No shame in admitting that I loved this outfit so much, I wore it two days in a row.

This coat was a gift, but a very similar option is available here (and it’s only $65!)

What are some other ways you think I should style this coat? I’d love to hear your suggestions and styling tips in the comments below.
