Whether it be self-induced or brought upon you by an external factor, change is inevitable. It’s just how the universe works. But how you handle it can make all the difference in how it effects you.
Change often feels like a journey to an unknown destination. We often tell ourselves that we will be more at ease once we reach that destination, but it does not serve to think this way. Everything is in a constant state of changing, so if we wait for it to subside, we’ll be waiting the rest of our lives. Be present and accept change as a state of being rather than a journey.
Mindfulness and being present might prove difficult when normalcy is upended in your life and routine. But that’s when we truly need it most. Welcoming change and seeing the opportunity for growth in it will prove most beneficial for you in the long run, or even in the not-so-long run. Keeping our mindfulness consistent is like training a muscle to handle more weight or resistance. It might feel tough but it will only make you (and in this case, your mind) stronger. Things will unfold the way they need to. Just know that wherever you are right now is exactly where you need to be.
